Why do Hispanics in Las Vegas stand in front of Star Nursery looking for work? When did that start?
I live in Henderson, and there are always Hispanic men waiting by Start Nursery. How come they chose to stand there?

I used to live there....Is there a bus stop nearby...or it could be a common landmark for people to get picked up to or from work....

In VA every 7-11 you see there are about 50 Hispanics waiting outside to get picked up for day labor.....

Because unlike most unemployed Caucasians(and Blacks) they know to go where the work is, lunch packed, ready to do a job for as much money per day as the market will bear. Employers go there because they know they will get employees who will do backbreaking work for very little money and do the job better than people they would be paying more to.

because they need work. you answered your own question. they probably know that there are people going to the business who are trying to redecorate or something. my cousin got some of the hispanic men who stand in front of home depot to redo her attic. it looks good as hell by the way . it is a hustle, not a legitimate form of work but pays the bills.

Because we chose to endorse NAFTA, and before we said 'yes' to NAFTA, we said yes to illegal laws that allowed unfair taxation, hangings, land confiscation and language discrimination, before that we started a war with Mexico after an expatriated group (who did not consider themselves part of Mexico) began a war with the US who took the opportunity to blame Mexico, murder Mexicans, steal 7 states, one of which was California where we mined over 300,000,000 dollars worth of gold that could have helped their economy. In war relief, we gave Mexico 15 million dollars.... before then, Europeans moved onto this continent we call North America, where Spanish was spoken here 300 years previous to European arrival. On top of that, how many Caucasians or white undocumented immigrants do you notice standing around and looking for work? There are a lot of them. However, this is a racial issue as much as it was ever an immigration issue. For more information please review the source of this information (It is a draft thesis 'Hispanic will soon be changed to Latino in the report)

It's better than dealing with them standing on the strip trying to hand you hooker ads. Can't even walk down the sidewalk without having to dodge at least 5 of them. Not that I have a problem with the smut. Just too many people on the street already. No need to add more loitering.

because they want to work and need to make a living, DUH
